Seeking God's Heart

Jeremiah 29:11-13, Psalm 63:1-8
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Psalm 63:1-8
63 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

Devotional
The sermon emphasized our need to actively seek God, not just avoid sin. Today's reading reminds us that God desires a deep, personal relationship with us. He has plans to prosper us and give us hope, but we must seek Him wholeheartedly. Reflect on your current pursuit of God. Are you seeking Him with your whole heart, or merely trying to avoid crossing lines? Consider how you can shift your focus from "What can I get away with?" to "How can I draw closer to God?" Take time to express your desire for God's presence in prayer, using Psalm 63 as inspiration.
