Training for Tomorrow

What does it mean to truly train up the next generation, not just in words, but in the way we live every single day? Drawing from Ephesians 6:1-4, we are challenged to look honestly at the gap between who we are on Sunday and who we are on Monday. The passage calls children to obey and honor their parents, and calls parents not to provoke their children to wrath but to raise them in nurture and admonition. The spiritual insight here runs deep: we are always training someone, whether we are intentional about it or not. Every action, every word, every inconsistency is a lesson being absorbed by those watching us. The message pushes us to move beyond performance and into genuine, consistent discipleship. If we want the next generation to be anchored in faith, we have to show them what an anchored life actually looks like, not just inside a church building, but in the car ride home, in how we treat people when no one we want to impress is watching, and in the daily rhythms of our lives.
