The Power of Your Witness

Reading:
Acts 1:8 (KJV)
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Matthew 5:14–16 (KJV)
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Devotional:
Jesus didn't give us the Holy Spirit just for personal empowerment—He gave us power to be witnesses. You are a light set on a hill that cannot be hidden. The world is watching your channel, observing how you handle trials, respond to blessings, and navigate difficulties. Your life is a continuous broadcast of either God's reality or the world's emptiness. A city on a hill doesn't choose when to shine; it shines constantly. Your witness isn't limited to your words at church—it's displayed in your marriage, your workplace, your neighborhood, and your social media. People who will never read a Bible are reading your life. What message are they receiving? Let your light shine today in every interaction, knowing that someone's eternity might depend on what they see in you.
