The Foundation That Holds

Paul interrupts his teaching on spiritual gifts to insert this profound truth: without love, everything else is meaningless. You can prophesy, heal, give generously, even sacrifice your life—but without love, it counts for nothing. Why? Because love is the foundation upon which everything else must be built. When storms shake your life, when doubt creeps in, when circumstances threaten to topple your faith, only one foundation remains unshakable—the love of Christ demonstrated on Calvary. Three things last forever: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest is love because it's the bedrock of the other two. Today, examine what you're building your life upon. Is it gifts, abilities, accomplishments, or the solid rock of Christ's unchanging love?
