No Confidence in the Flesh

Philippians 3:2–6 (KJV)

2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.

3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:

5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;

6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

Romans 3:21–26 (KJV)

21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Paul's resume was remarkable: circumcised, Hebrew of Hebrews, Pharisee, blameless under the law. Yet he declared it all worthless compared to Christ's righteousness. We often rely on our accomplishments, church attendance, titles, or good deeds to establish our standing before God. But salvation comes through faith in Christ alone, not human effort. Your job, wealth, status, and even religious activities cannot save you. Only the blood of Jesus provides righteousness. This truth should humble and liberate us simultaneously. Stop leaning on your flesh and fully trust in what Christ accomplished on Calvary. His finished work is sufficient. Today, identify areas where you've been depending on yourself rather than Him, and surrender them completely.
