Breaking the Yokes of Oppression

Galatians 5:1 KJV and Galatians 5:13-15 KJV

Galatians 5:1 KJV
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Galatians 5:13-15 KJV
13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

Devotional

Yesterday, we explored what it means to fast God's way. Today, let's focus on how our spiritual disciplines should lead to freedom - both for ourselves and others. Paul reminds us in Galatians that Christ has set us free, but this freedom isn't for self-indulgence. Rather, it's an opportunity to serve one another in love. As you fast and pray, ask God to show you any "yokes of oppression" in your life or in the lives of those around you. These could be addictions, negative thought patterns, or unjust situations.
How can you use your freedom in Christ to help break these yokes?
Remember, our fasting should lead to action that reflects God's heart for justice and mercy.
