The Sacred Art of Breaking
Reading: Psalm 51:10-17
Devotional: God does not despise a broken and contrite heart. Like the Japanese art of Kintsugi, where broken pottery is mended with gold, God transforms our brokenness into something more beautiful than before. When life shatters our carefully constructed plans, we often resist the breaking process. Yet it is precisely in these moments that we attract God's attention most powerfully. Our pride keeps us self-sufficient when everything flows smoothly, but brokenness drives us to our knees. David understood this truth deeply—his greatest psalms emerged from his darkest moments. Today, consider what areas of brokenness in your life might be God's invitation to draw closer to Him.
Reflection Question: What broken pieces are you trying to hide instead of bringing to God for restoration?
