Love Without Reservation

Reading
Romans 12:9-10
Matthew 26:36-42

Devotional
Jesus prayed in Gethsemane with such intensity that His sweat became as drops of blood, yet He concluded, "Nevertheless, not my will but thy will be done." This is love without reservation—love that knows the cost and chooses sacrifice anyway. Paul commands us to love without hypocrisy, to really love others, not just pretend. This requires laying down our rights, our preferences, and our self-protection. When we demand our own way or love only when it's convenient, we reveal that our love still has conditions attached. Christ knew Judas would betray Him, yet He still served him at the table. Why? Because unreserved love creates space for transformation. Today, identify where you've placed conditions on your love. What reservations are you holding onto? Surrender them to God and ask Him to give you His heart for those who've hurt or disappointed you.

Reflection Question
What "rights" is God asking you to surrender so you can love someone the way Christ loves you?
