Hope in the Midst of Trials

Reading: Romans 5:3-5; James 1:2-4

Devotional: Glorying in tribulation sounds impossible until you understand the process. Pressure isn't meant to crush you—it's meant to produce something in you that wasn't there before. Like grapes crushed to make wine, God uses trials to bring forth character, endurance, and proven faith. The fire cannot consume what God has already sealed. You aren't barely holding on; you're tied to the Rock that is higher than you. The test isn't there to destroy you but to prove how strong your anchor really is in Him.

Reflection: What trial are you currently facing? Can you see how God might be using it to develop something new in you?

Application: Thank God for one current difficulty, asking Him to reveal what He wants to produce through it.
