Counting the Cost of Discipleship

Reading: Luke 14:25-33

Devotional: Jesus never promised an easy path—He promised a worthy one. When great crowds followed Him, He didn't celebrate the numbers; He challenged their commitment. True discipleship requires honest evaluation: Are you willing to prioritize Christ above all relationships, possessions, and personal ambitions? Like a builder counting construction costs, you must assess whether you're prepared to finish what you start with God. Your destiny isn't found in casual Christianity but in radical surrender. Today, examine what competes for Jesus' place in your life. Your career, relationships, and dreams aren't inherently wrong, but they cannot supersede your calling. The question isn't whether you love God, but whether you love Him most. Authentic faith demands that you release everything into His hands, trusting that what He has planned surpasses your greatest aspirations.
