The Wrestling Match for Your Soul

Reading: Genesis 32:22-32; Ephesians 6:10-18

Devotional: Like Jacob at Peniel, you're in a wrestling match—but the real battle isn't with God; it's with everything preventing you from fully surrendering to Him. You're holding Jesus with one hand while clutching your old life with the other, and this divided grip keeps you stuck on the fence. The tug-of-war is exhausting: church versus career, holiness versus culture, God's will versus your plans. But here's the truth—you cannot serve two masters. Eventually, you'll resent one. That growing bitterness toward prayer meetings and church commitments reveals what you're truly loving. Today, stop wrestling and surrender. God is a gentleman; He won't force you. But your destiny requires a decision only you can make. Release what's holding you back. Let go of relationships, habits, and ambitions that compete with Christ. The blessing comes when you stop fighting and declare, "I will not let You go until You bless me."
