The Condition of Humanity and the Need for Grace

Reading

 Romans 5:6-11

Devotional

Sin is not just what we do—it's a condition that infects the human soul. From birth, we carry a nature bent toward rebellion against God. The Bible says our hearts are "continually evil," yet God's response wasn't immediate judgment but patient grace. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. This is the scandal of the gospel: God loved us before we loved Him, saved us before we sought Him, and chose us while we were still His enemies. Today, reflect on your own unworthiness. Not to wallow in shame, but to marvel at grace. You didn't earn God's love—you received it as a gift. Let this truth humble you and move you to extend the same undeserved grace to others who haven't earned your kindness.
