Humility and Submission

James 4:7-10 KJV

7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Devotional

Humility and submission are key themes in our study of fasting God's way. James instructs us to submit to God, resist the devil, and draw near to God. This process involves humbling ourselves before the Lord. As you fast, consider areas in your life where pride might be hindering your spiritual growth.
Are there situations where you're resisting God's will or trying to do things your own way?
Take time to confess these to God and ask for His help in cultivating a spirit of humility and submission. Remember, God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. As you humble yourself before Him, expect to experience more of His grace and presence in your life.
