Trusting God's Timing

Reading
Isaiah 40:28-31 KJV
28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

2 Peter 3:8-9 KJV
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Devotional
Waiting on God's promises can be challenging, especially when time seems to be working against us. Sarah laughed at the prospect of having a child in her old age, yet God's timing proved perfect. In our instant-gratification culture, we often struggle with God's seemingly slow pace. But God's timing is always purposeful. He's working even when we can't see it. Today, consider areas where you're waiting on God. Are you growing impatient? Remember that God is never late, but He's seldom early. He's developing your character in the waiting. Ask for the strength to trust His timing and the wisdom to see how He's working in your season of waiting.
