Breaking Chains and Taking Dominion
Reading
Galatians 5:1 KJV
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Galatians 5:13-16 KJV
13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Devotional
Christ has set us free, but freedom in Christ isn't just about breaking chains; it's about living in the fullness of God's purpose for our lives. We're called to "stand firm" in this freedom and not return to bondage. This involves taking dominion over areas in our lives where we've allowed sin or fear to rule. Today, consider what areas of your life need to be brought under Christ's lordship. Are there habits, thoughts, or behaviors that are holding you back from fully embracing your freedom in Christ? Remember, we're called to use our freedom to serve one another in love. Pray for the Holy Spirit's power to help you walk in true freedom and to use that freedom to love and serve others effectively.
