Champions Work in the Off-Season
Reading
Proverbs 13:4 (KJV)
The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
2 Timothy 2:3–7 (KJV)
Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.
Devotional
Every champion understands that victory is determined long before game day. ✨ The off-season—when nobody’s watching, when motivation fades, when results aren’t immediate—separates winners from wishers.
Israel wanted more land but wouldn’t work the land they already had. They desired abundance but rejected the discipline required to obtain it. Wanting more isn’t enough; you must be willing to do more. ?
Are you hydrating daily in God’s Word? ? Are you stretching your faith through prayer? ? Are you strengthening your spiritual muscles through obedience? ⚔️
Success requires showing up when you don’t feel like it, running when it’s uncomfortable, and pressing on when your body says quit. Your mind will tell you to stop long before your spirit is actually done.
God has already given you everything you need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3 KJV). ? Stop waiting for perfect conditions. Start working with what’s in your hands. ?
