Pursuing the Promise
Reading: Hebrews 11:32-40, 12:1-3
Devotional: The heroes of faith pursued God's promises despite incredible obstacles. Some saw miraculous deliverance; others faced torture and death. Yet all obtained a good testimony through faith. What are you pursuing? The world's approval or God's kingdom? Your commitment must be fueled by what you're chasing. Seek first the kingdom of God, and everything else will be added to you. The race set before you requires endurance, focus, and unwavering commitment. Strip off every weight and the sin that so easily entangles. Fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. Today, evaluate your pursuit. Are you running after temporary treasures or eternal promises? Recommit to pursuing God with everything you have. The promise is worth it.
