The Cost of Commitment

Reading: James 2:14-26; Genesis 22:1-18

Devotional: Abraham's willingness to offer Isaac reveals a profound truth: genuine faith always produces corresponding action. Commitment isn't comfortable—it requires sacrifice. We live in a culture of convenience, but the kingdom of God operates on principles of consecration. What are you willing to place on the altar? Your comfort? Your plans? Your reputation? True commitment means denying yourself, taking up your cross, and following Jesus—not just when it's convenient, but especially when it costs you something. The promise God has for your life is too great for halfhearted devotion. Today, identify one area where convenience has replaced commitment, and ask God for the courage to sacrifice your comfort for His greater purpose.
